Often I notice that intuitive, organic pieces emerge from wool fibre, shiny materials, colourful paint and/or 3D mixed media. I work together with the materials in a dialogue about the content we are looking at.
I tend to make expressive, vibrant pieces and deliberately imperfect shapes and edges. This is an intentional practice. A practice to accept what emerges, what is here today, what reflects the content or story no matter what that looks like, over beautiful pre-conceived outcomes. In that raw and unpredictable messy middle what emerges is mine and real, and that's what needs to be expressed and seen.
